Job Description: The Clinical Informatics Nurse Analyst applies clinical knowledge and expertise to provide leadership, development and implementation support, and teaching related to the implementation of the electronic health record in Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Clinical Informatics Nurse Analyst functions as an internal consultant within SHA to lead, organize and coordinate assigned complex, organization-wide transformation initiatives to facilitate their optimum development and implementation. The Clinical Informatics Nurse Analyst will support the Digital Health department and Clinical Working Groups and as such must demonstrate through personal commitment, support for the strategies, values, culture and beliefs of the health authority and the strategic and operating plans of the functional or operational area. The incumbent must support innovation and contribute to a positive working climate which is client centric

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • 5 years experience working as an operating room nurse. Minimum 5 years experience working directly with SIS application. Experience in business process mapping and process redesign required. Previous experience in application configuration an asset. Previous experience leading quality improvement projects an asset.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to embrace and champion the process improvements and clinical transformation resulting from the product

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technical problems related to the configuration, testing, implementation and processing of a
  • software application
  • Ability to work within a culture that supports emergent innovation and collaboration
  • Aptitude to gain knowledge of a new application and/or software
  • Demonstrated skill in teaching clinicians and other staff
  • Demonstrated skill in team building, listening, coaching, group facilitation and conflict resolution. Must also have proven analytical, problem and decision making solving skills.
  • Excellent and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are required as is proven ability to develop and present information on complex projects including written documentation and verbal presentation to clinical staff, management and external
  • Excellent time management and personal organizational skills with demonstrated ability to organize resources and establish priorities, including the ability to multi‐task
  • Knowledge and experience in evaluation and leading process improvement projects, Continuous Quality Improvement methodology and tools (including Lean), change management and performance measurement
  • Proficient use of computer, software, and peripheral equipment, i.e., Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as Microsoft Project, Sharepoint, & Visio
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage interpersonal relationships; ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment and to obtain cooperation and acceptance from others when implementing new or changed system
  • Understanding • of change management and project management
  • Understanding of HIPAA and other regulatory requirements that could affect or be affected by automation
  • Understanding of the organizational and provincial strategy with ability to articulate the goals
