Financial Analyst, Inbound Transportation

We are looking for a financial analyst, inbound transportation, who will report to the finance manager, freight, and who'll be tasked with helping us control our transportation costs. As part of your role, you'll be collaborating with management and the business unit responsible for inbound transport for our production sites in North America.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

• Performance analysis: Evaluate the performance of transportation, comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts. Identify and analyze variances and provide explanations and recommendations to management. This includes financial and operational performance.
• Budgeting and forecasting: Develop, update, and maintain financial forecasts and budgets for transportation. This could involve analyzing historical trends and current data.
• Process improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance processes or implement systems for the collection and management of financial and operational information required for financial reporting.
• Data-Driven financial modelling: Develop and refine data-driven financial models that guide strategic decision-making in transportation, ensuring cost efficiency and operational excellence.
• Data visualization and communication: Utilize data visualization tools to translate complex financial and operational data into intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports. This will enhance understanding of trends, patterns, and anomalies, enabling informed decision-making.

YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

• The ideal candidate for this role will have a natural aptitude for data analysis, an understanding of finance, be a team player and have good communication skills.
• A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in data analysis and finance.
• Curiosity, the willingness to make a difference and a desire for continuous improvement by seeking references and best practices.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages.
• The ability to influence different groups of people to achieve win-win solutions.
• The ability to work unsupervised and lead independently in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of database structures and hands-on experience with advanced query tools (Snowflake platform, SQL, ETL tools such as Knime and Power BI) would be a plus.
• A proven ability to learn and use different information systems (e.g. SAP, TM1, Ariba, etc.).
