Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Manager, People Operational Analytics to lead the development and implementation of data models, dashboards, and reports that provide meaningful insights into key HR operational metrics and trends. This role will oversee a small team and play a critical role in delivering data-driven insights that support HR Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, Event Services, and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure the globalization of HR metrics, maintaining consistency across regions while allowing flexibility for local operations.

What will you do?

  • Analytics Leadership:
    Develop and implement robust data models, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights into HR operations, recruitment trends, event metrics, and DEI outcomes.
  • Global Metrics and Data Integration:
    Ensure the alignment of global HR operational metrics, creating consistent reporting frameworks that can be adapted to meet local operational needs. Collaborate with regional teams to integrate key insights into global HR strategies.
  • Reporting & Dashboard Development:
    Build and maintain dynamic dashboards to monitor performance across HR Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, Event Services, and DEI efforts, ensuring data is presented clearly for informed decision-making.
  • Team Leadership:
    Manage and mentor a small team, providing guidance on analytics best practices, performance expectations, and continuous improvement in reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Partner with HR functions and business leaders to understand data needs and deliver insights that drive operational efficiency and strategic initiatives. Work closely with regional and global teams to ensure alignment of analytics practices.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance:
    Ensure adherence to data governance policies and compliance with local and global data privacy regulations. Safeguard the accuracy and integrity of HR data across systems and reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for process optimization and drive continuous improvement in data collection, reporting, and analytics across the HR function.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Human Resources, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in HR Analytics, Data Science, or similar disciplines are preferred.
  • Experience:
    7+ years of experience in HR analytics, data analysis, or related fields, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or management role. Experience in working with global HR metrics and providing insights for HR operations, recruitment, events management, and DEI.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in data modeling, analytics, and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Excel)
    • Ability to design and implement dashboards and reports that drive business decisions
    • Strong leadership skills with experience managing team members and fostering collaboration across regions
    • Excellent communication skills to present complex data insights to senior leadership
    • Knowledge of operations, with experience in working across diverse regions
    • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with HR systems like Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar HR platforms
  • Experience in data governance and compliance with global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
