Enterprise Data Management is essential to business operations and analytics. The Data & Analytics Office at BRP is looking for its next superstar to join and lead Data Management. This leader will be key in helping us continue our data journey and will report directly to the Director of Enterprise Information Management (EIM).

YOUR ROLE

  • In your role you will manage a dedicated team of Data Management Analysts and Engineers that are responsible for a range of functions and capabilities, such as: master data management, data incident investigations, data quality reporting and scorecarding, data migration and conversions, establishing data object communities of practice, and more.
  • This is a leadership role where you will be expected to understand the day to day of the data management roles and functions and provide strategic direction, for operations as well as for the project/initiative engagements.
  • An ability to effectively manage stakeholders at any level of the organization and sustain that engagement is key. You will liaise with the business to help address their data management needs, understand their requests while contributing to a roadmap that is appropriate to the maturity level of the organization, its lines of business, business functions, and teams.
  • BRP utilizes a federated model wherein the data governance and data management teams advise and enable our business stakeholders with the skills, tools, processes and guidance to properly manage the organization's data assets.
  • Moreover as the leader in charge of Data Management, you will also be responsible for overseeing data migration and conversion function, guiding and providing strategy for the development of its platform and success in transformational projects.
  • You will work closely with the Enterprise Data Management team to operationalize, implement and support the relevant strategies, policies, standards and guidelines of the data governance team.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of effective data migration and conversion methodology.
  • Ability to successfully deploy a project capability into sustainable operational use after go-live.
  • Management activities including goal setting, performance management, tracking deliverables, recruitment, administration etc for a team size ranging up to 5-10 members
  • Leading employees through personal growth, development, and change.
  • Building relationships with cross-functional colleagues to develop knowledge and awareness as a way of improving data management capabilities and team relations.
  • Deploying organizational change management techniques to smoothly introduce change into your operational team and within the broader business (e.g. new templates, tools, processes).
  • Employing strategies to support the business data owners and stewards relative to their data maturity level and enabling them to progress on their tailored roadmaps.
  • Implementing methods, tools and processes to ensure the highest data quality, understanding the impact that data quality has on cross-functional business units.
  • Overseeing the generation of master data standard operating procedures, data object and element policies and the measurement of them.
  • Clearly communicating in written and verbal communications.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in technical, business or digital areas, or equivalent combination of education and business-related work experience.
  • 10+ years of total work experience in data migration, data management and/or data governance roles; minimum 5+ leading data migration and conversion projects.
  • 5+ years of experience working in complex data ecosystems with SAP or a similar ERP
  • 5+ years of experience in people management.
  • Demonstrated experience with a Data Migration/Conversion platform (e.g. Syniti ADM)
  • Experience with data governance and platform development are assets.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Monte Carlo or similar Data Quality tools, PowerBI or similar data visualization and Collibra or similar Data Governance platform are also assets.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in your work.
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills.
