TMX VettaFi is seeking a full-time staff writer to join its growing editorial department. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for writing up to three stories per day for client channels, focusing mainly on Canadian ETF markets. The role will also involve writing about other topics developed with the input of the team.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter skilled at collaborating with colleagues in remote work environments. Ideally, the candidate should at least have a working understanding of (and interest in) Canada's ETF markets.
Job Responsibilities:
Write and research up to three articles per day on client-approved topics as well as chosen off-channel topics developed independently and collaboratively with fellow team members.
Participate in client calls to learn about their products and develop story ideas. The writer should be prepared to discuss their own independently developed topic proposals on calls.
Assist with occasional special projects, such as developing conference content
Job Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience covering news within the financial industry in Canada, preferably the ETF industry or financial advisory community.
Experience with content management systems, such as WordPress.
A working knowledge of SEO best practices.
High attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, particularly with respect to creating compelling written content.
Comfort with remote communication platforms (Teams, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
Comfort with working with clients and cultivating cordial and responsive relationships with them
