Purpose of Role

Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies that promote reliable and efficient processes that increase the efficiency and speed of supply operations in alignment with overall company strategic goals and priorities.

Job Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management:

  • Works in collaboration with the Sr. Director, Global Supply Chain to support the development of strategic priorities in support of operations
  • Implement performance management processes and KPIs to support process improvements.
  • Assists in identification of gaps in current processes versus benchmarks to build best-in-class operations.
  • Support best practice sharing and standardization across operations.
  • Support enablement of business analytics and reporting tools to enhance decision making.
  • Manage control mechanisms and monitor process compliance and performance of supply chain operations.
  • Develop and execute user training programs across all sites for supply chain staff and customer groups.

Governance

  • Support development of Kinross Supply Chain policy & standards that govern procurement & supply chain operations.
  • Implement tools & processes designed to ensure supply chain operations are compliant with all policies, laws, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Develop and monitor KPI's to maintain transparency and report on performance to stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and interpretations on supply chain policy questions and collaborate with Legal & Compliance on supplier due diligence & policy issues
  • Support the development of supply chain policy training programs for stakeholders.
  • Implement initiatives that promote sustainable supply chain operations.
  • Ensure supplier due diligence processes are aligned with legal, compliance, regulatory, & business requirements.
  • Maintain supply chain register and mitigation plans for risks including compliance, geo-political, ESG and climate change.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Audit on planning and development of audit action plans

Procurement:

  • Collaborate with strategic procurement and category management in the creation of enhanced spend and market data analytics and dashboards to drive improved decision-making and procurement performance.
  • Implements KPIs for cost savings, supplier performance, and process efficiency, etc.
  • Leads development and implementation of demand planning and forecasting processes for improved execution in collaboration with procurement teams.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of guidelines, standards, and tools in support of leading procurement practices.
  • Develop metrics to monitor and correct procure to pay performance and process compliance.
  • Establish practices designed to track and manage progress of suppliers against contract commitments and strategic programs.

Logistics:

  • Support site teams in developing and implementing logistics management programs, as required.
  • Support network design optimization programs and evaluation of carrier options for core lanes.
  • Develop data visibility to spend across both vendor and Kinross-controlled inbound freight lanes.
  • Develop tracking capabilities for real-time management of freight movement.

Warehouse Operations:

  • Support the development of warehouse operations to reflect best-in-class practices.
  • Collaborate with sites to establish operating guidelines for warehouse operations across Kinross.
  • Implement KPIs and metrics to drive operations performance and best practice implementation.
  • Introduce basic and leading practice warehouse technology such as Barcoding and RFID / GPS

Inventory Management:

  • Support the development and implementation of inventory management policies, guidelines, and practices to optimize total performance
  • Identify and support the implementation of inventory forecasting and replenishment planning tools.
  • Develop and manage real-time visibility and reporting tools across systems.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operation teams to support system-wide critical item management methodology.
  • Support operations with supplier programs to reduce working capital commitments through JIT, VMI, etc.

Education and Experience

Education

  • University degree in an engineering or financial discipline
  • Additional formal professional designation



Experience

  • 15+ years of related experience with some project field experience or technical knowledge of mining
  • Experience leading complex supply chain technology and/or process improvement projects working in multi-site international environment
  • Previous training and experience in global supply chain, procurement, logistics, warehouse operations, and inventory management would be an asset
  • Experience working in an international, complex supply chain organization with an advanced understanding of procurement and logistics procedures
  • Experience at a major mining company preferred

Skills

• Significant knowledge of all of the disciplines referenced in this job profile; specifically contracts administration, procurement (of both capital equipment as well as operating parts, materials and supplies), remote warehousing and inventory control, and specifically international logistics
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized
• Good working knowledge of project management and spreadsheet computer program skills
• Expert analytical skills
• Advanced project management skills
• Strong understanding of project development and project construction process flows within the mineral industry
• Strong knowledge of standard industry approaches with respect to project procurement and logistics management
