This is a hybrid role based out of Toronto, for Wealth management technology Strategy & Operations team. We are seeking a Senior Technical Specialist who has extensive experience with Web page development, MS Power Platform and SQL server with awareness to AWS services. Specific project areas of focus includes translating user requirements into technical specifications, writing code and managing the preparation of design specifications. This individual will work on the banking system and application integration team to contribute to the overall success of the strategic vision. Applies deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures and programming languages to develop high quality technology applications and services - including tools, standards, and relevant software platforms based on business requirements.

  • Build end-to-end solutions using frontend frameworks as well as using Power BI for integration

  • Consult and collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders to better understand business and security requirements, translating them into technical specifications.

  • Map out solutions and put together a roadmap for success.

  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in Front end frameworks, Power BI development, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and have awareness of AWS service integrations

  • This role will involve redesigning and optimizing various dashboards to deliver actionable insights, improve user experience, and align with organizational security objectives.

  • Data Integration and Management: Work with MSSQL databases to structure and optimize data storage, retrieval, and transformation processes for dashboard integration.

  • Performance Optimization: Ensure the dashboard performs efficiently with large data sets, incorporating best practices for Power BI modeling and DAX queries.

  • Ensures that code/configurations adhere to the security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non-functional requirements.

  • Automating and optimizing processes of building, testing, and deploying software.

  • Supporting developers, implementing best practices, and ensuring smooth code deployment to production servers

  • Implementing and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software and code releases

  • Evaluates new technologies for fit with the program/system/eco-system and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk.

  • Follows release management processes and standards, and applies version controls.

  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.

  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Be involved in the management and execution of technical programs

  • Support implementation of programs for enterprise platforms

  • Analyze data to identify trends, interdependencies among variables and be able to support defining project scope, developing action plans and gaining agreement to solutions from all stakeholders

  • Utilize Agile methodology to streamline work processes and realize cost and resource efficiencies

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Extensive experience working in the Power Suite domain and SQL server

  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) principles.

  • Familiar with DevOps tools(Jenkins/GitHub Actions).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, including hands-on expertise in Power BI report and dashboard development that is able to provide or present insight with stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in, including g writing and optimizing SQL queries, designing schemas, and integrating data into Power BI.

  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.

  • Have an understanding for the financial services industry and its products

  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to apply results of analysis

  • Be digitally savvy with an inherent interest in technology, innovation, business transformation, user centred design and digital user experience to understand how they all impact the business Job

  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.

Salary:

$74,800.00 - $138,600.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
