A great opportunity within the Information Technology Services Department.
The Senior Project Manager is a leader in the project management group. They are responsible for managing transformational programs that are critical, large scale, complex with high visibility and impact. They are assigned projects with high risk profiles. The incumbent will be responsible for partnering with the business sponsor and ITS leadership to manage all phases of the project lifecycle to ensure that desired objectives and benefits are realized. The incumbent is involved in all phases of the project life cycle from inception to deployment and post-deployment activities including audit and compliance. They will provide senior level expertise for programs and projects with multiple, cross departmental stakeholders; They will provide effective risk management based on leading industry practice; The incumbent will support the procurement process in accordance to the procurement by-laws; support the financial management process in accordance to the financial by-laws with direction and support of management; demonstrate value by delivering ITS and enterprise projects according to standards set out by ITS and PfMO; The incumbent may indirectly supervise a member of the project management team including Project Managers and/or Project Coordinators. The incumbent may also act on behalf of the Director - Project Management.
You will support the ITS team, clients and business partners in the case development and rationalization for major programs and initiatives; ensure user adoption, business readiness and change management practices that lead to success; lead the continuous improvement of ITS services through the contribution, collection and incorporation of solutions/lessons learned into their project management practice; monitor PM area goals and objectives and align program/project deliverables with them.
You will manage all phases of projects from inception to post-implementation and any rationalization; conduct extensive benefit realization processes working in partnership with business champions; develop accurate and high quality detailed project plans covering all phases of the IT Services Project Management Life Cycle including request, initiation, planning, execution and closure; perform all required program and project budgeting tasks including preparation of estimates, support the scheduled budget process, support ad-hoc budget request and provide accurate and timely financial control and reporting; vendor relationship management including coordination with M&P, ITS groups, Finance and senior leadership.
