Understands and assesses business strategy in connection with the value of data at scale. Articulates information strategies that meet business objectives by establishing a vision and a target state for organization, people, data and technology. Designs and applies a comprehensive collection of methods, practices, policies, tools and processes to govern and control the lifecycle of all data assets, that ensures their protection, governance and trusted consumption. Performs maturity assessments on data management capabilities, designs related organization and operating models and advises on tools and roadmaps to implement them. Acts as integration point for triaging business requests and managing demand for data support as part of a multi-year roadmap.

  • Works with stakeholders to understand key business opportunities and translate those into a clear, actionable data strategy​.
  • Articulates business cases to prove the business value of information and data strategy initiatives, prioritizes identified use cases and shapes an actionable execution plan​.
  • Identifies and recommends solutions to resolve issues in data policies, data usage, data quality, and metrics.
  • Evaluates and recommends data governance supporting technologies​.
  • Addresses data security risks and compliance requirements​ for an assigned portfolio.
  • Works with across-functional teams e.g. business, technologists, data scientists to synthesize ideas, prioritize efforts, and identify intelligent solutions for business leaders​.
  • Identifies and introduces new data sources that range from standard market data to unstructured and alternative data​.
  • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Salary:

$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
