What you'll do
The eCommerce Financial, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, who will play a key role in providing support for eCommerce and Digital strategic initiatives across CTR, Mark's and SportChek. In this role, you will apply your financial and analytical skills and to provide high quality support to the business through planning, forecasting and the development of insights and recommendations to help Canadian Tire's eCommerce businesses move forward with strategic initiatives. Working with cross-functional teams across Finance, Digital and Marketing, you will leverage data to help teams uncover insights, trends, and to evaluate current business performance against plan/forecast. You will be staying current on the latest developments in analytics software/approaches within the organization helping the eCommerce FP&A team with building and maintaining more robust processes, models, and dashboards.
Provide excellent financial support to the eCommerce and Digital team by preparing accurate and timely budgets and forecasts, monitoring results versus plan/forecast/prior year, investigating variances and providing a thorough analysis of financial results.
Take complex data points and simplify with effective and representative visualizations (charts, tables, graphs, slides) to provide analytical insights and recommendations, to influence business clients.
Design, plan, and build data pipelines (data wrangling / preparation), data modeling and analytical/statistical workflows, data visualizations, and reporting/dashboarding tools to support and conduct comprehensive analyses.
Identify inefficiencies in current processes and strive for continuous improvement through changes to modelling approaches and/or automation.
Enable high-impact strategic projects by providing end-to-end support to clients, including defining analysis scope, gathering relevant data, executing analyses, and presenting concise and relevant insights.
What you bring
Post-secondary degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
3+ years of experience in a finance or analytical role.
Knowledge and experience in data preparation, data analysis, and statistical tool sets including but not limited to SQL, Power BI, KNIME, and Excel.
Intermediate knowledge of SQL and best practices.
Experience working with large and complex datasets efficiently and a passion for digging into data.
Excellent attention to detail, a structured approach to analysis and the ability to develop logical arguments.
