About the Job

As Senior Analyst, you will:

• Conduct economic and labour market research and analysis.
• Create reports on labour market trends and workforce development.
• Provide technical support for research initiatives.
• Develop analytical products and visualization tools.
• Collaborate with other ministries, the federal government, and stakeholders.

What you bring to the team

Specialized knowledge and skills:

You have:

• Advanced knowledge in labour market economics, demographics, statistics, and research methods.
• An understanding of Ontario's labour market and workforce development trends.
• Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., Stata, Python, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience working with large datasets and APIs to retrieve data.

Problem-solving and analytical skills:

You have:
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Skills in research, analysis, and statistical modelling on economic, demographic, and labour market issues.
• Experience in macro/microeconomic analysis for the impacts of relevant legislation, policies, and programs on the labour market.

Communication skills:

You have:

• Strong oral communication skills to explain complex labour market issues to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent written communication skills for research proposals and policy papers.
• Consultation skills to maintain effective relationships and work well in teams or independently.
• Experience participating in committees and project teams across various organizations and sectors.

Project management skills:

You have:

• The ability to plan and lead research projects to ensure timelines and objectives are achieved.
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent requests to meet tight deadlines.
