Job Description:

This is a 12-months contract position.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, In Plan, the Marketing & Client Engagement Specialist is accountable for driving end-to-end delivery (from ideation to execution) of marketing campaigns leveraging multiple channels such as email, web, video, social media and print.

These communications will help Clients:

  • Understand their workplace benefits and savings plans and encourage them to take action.
  • Educate plan members when new products i.e. voluntary benefits are available and during key moments in the member journey (welcome, enrolment, re-enrolment, etc.).

What will you do?

  • Drive end-to-end delivery (from ideation to execution) of marketing campaigns in various digital channels.
  • Work with Creative Services to develop marketing messages that are clear and client-centric, using plain language and behavioural economic principles.
  • Develop and implement test and learn direct response marketing campaigns, including preparing and presenting briefs to support business objectives
  • Ensure knowledge of campaign strategy, brand, the plan sponsor/association/client and the product value proposition are appropriately reflected in all communications (print and electronic).
  • Coordinate with other internal marketing teams, business partners and external vendors to execute campaigns as needed
  • Manage campaign execution, including preparing workback schedule, copy editing; providing creative direction; managing approvals (business partners, legal, compliance, risk etc.) translation, printing, production and distribution processes
  • Work with internal analytics teams to help ensure measurement and reporting on campaign activity is in place
  • Identify opportunities for improvement based on post analysis or best practices to increase efficiency of campaign execution and effectiveness
  • Represent Marketing on special projects on occasion
  • Own and manage various administrative responsibilities

What do you need to succeed?

  • Post-secondary education in marketing or communications
  • 2 to 5 years in a Marketing Specialist role
  • Experience with digital marketing in a direct marketing capacity
  • Experience in progressive copywriting and editing, especially for digital tactics
  • Strong communications skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe software
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, organize work and set priorities
  • Ability to consult, negotiate and influence
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Ability to learn new programs and processes
  • A familiarity of behavioural economics and plain language principles
  • Proven balance of analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with business partners
  • Work well independently, but also function in a team environment.

What will be nice to have?

  • Experience in life insurance/wealth management or other financial services industry
  • Experience with marketing data analytics
  • Experience using Adobe Campaign and InDesign

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
