Job Description
The CFO Control Office (CCO) is a 2nd line of defense assurance team reporting into Finance designed to add value and improve RBC's financial control environment and reporting process. It provides subject matter expert (SME) advice, enabling RBC to achieve its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, controls and governance processes across the Bank which impacts the financial statements.
The Manager, reporting to the Director / Senior Director, will be responsible for managing and supporting innovation activities for the CFO Group by providing subject matter expertise on risks, controls, and governance matters. The incumbent will also participate in control-related projects in other CCO areas, as needed.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Chartered Professional Accountant designation
3+ years of relevant work experience
Proven track record as valued advisor with risk and control mindset
Ability to leverage business and strategic insights and independently propose solutions to problems and recommend a course of action
Ability to manage timelines and project progress through both personal accountability and through coordinating and negotiating with stakeholders
Solid relationship management skills since frequent interaction with key contacts is necessary to be successful in this role; specifically able to act as a change agent.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to make complex subject matter easy-to-follow
Nice-to-have
Solid understanding of financial institutions, including all facets of RBC's business and other activities with strong business acumen
Exposure to SOX and regulatory compliance or similar regimes in like organizations
Experience documenting business processes, risks, controls, and/or issues and managing applicable inventories and taxonomies
Working knowledge of Visio, Workiva, Archer or other Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools
