Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Salary: $79,190 to $98,982 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary

The Improvement Consultant is responsible for developing insights through analytics and ensuring cross-functional alignment across operations, data reporting, and planning. Ultimately helping drive innovative initiatives, informing program priorities, and evaluating program outcomes.

Duties

  • Support clinical teams in applying a variety of Lean Six Sigma improvement principles
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to systematically analyze situations/issues, identify options, draw logical conclusions, track project impact, and propose data-informed recommendations
  • Break down complex problems into manageable deliverables and perform root-cause analysis to identify inefficiencies, variances, and areas for enhancement across clinical workflows
  • Assist teams with collection, interpretation, analysis, and presentation of performance and outcome indicators
  • Apply change management principles and coach clinical teams through the change process
  • Establish and build positive relationships with all project stakeholders and ensure timely communications and engagements.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project milestones and outcomes, to various committees and project teams
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of standard work processes that align with Lean Six Sigma principles. Drive consistency in improvement practices and support hospital-wide initiatives to elevate the quality of care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Undergrad Degree in Health Informatics/Administration, Business, or Industrial/Process Engineering, or related field (Master's degree an asset)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green belt certification required (Black Belt considered an asset)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a hospital setting requirement
  • Excellent data analysis skills to identify data quality issues, patterns, visualize findings and communicate insights
  • Experience supporting broad-based hospital-wide initiatives
  • Excellent problem recognition, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Exercise initiative and demonstrated experience in project coordination
  • Experience with large datasets, dashboards, visualizations, and ad-hoc report development required
  • Experience with programming (R, Python, SQL, VBA) an asset
