The Financial Systems Analyst will have firm-wide responsibility for a wide variety of tasks focused on the financial and time management system, project plan development and management, financial reporting, program maintenance for systems, notifications, security, training, and documentation.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the financial systems subject matter expert
  • Provides training on financial systems and highlights new features to the Training and IT teams, Legal Admin Assistants, and other firm users as required
  • Prepares documentation and provides financial systems support to end users as required
  • Maintains the security logs and access and systems codes upon request
  • Maintenance, management, and facilitation of the report repository
  • Assists with the month and year end close, rates review and semi-annual security clean-up
  • Logs issues, resolves traces, and escalates issues with assistance from IT and external vendors
  • Takes an active role in financial systems issue prevention and detection
  • Assist with testing applications, upgrades, change requests and customizations
  • Create and support notification system using built-in tools, SQL statements and other report designers
  • Follow project management best practices for internal and external projects including the definition of project scope of work, goals, and deliverables. Outline detailed work plans which identify and sequence the activities and users needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Participates and coordinates special projects with internal and external partners
  • Understands Firm wide internal processes and procedures
  • May be required to provide other duties as required within the scope of the role

Job Specifications:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business administration, Information Technology, Finance or related field
  • Experience working with time management and reporting systems
  • Extensive knowledge of account software (Aderant is preferred)
  • MS Office and Advanced Excel knowledge is preferred
  • Finance/Accounting experience
  • SQL experience, Report Writing or other coding skills
  • Project management and risk management

  • Ability to document processes and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to run projects and tasks with minimal supervision
