Job Description Summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Data Centre Market Analyst to join its growing Data Center Advisory Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for critical analysis, research and document preparation for sales and leasing opportunities across the globe.

Job Description

Research, Analysis & Administration

  • Maintain and administer databases, updating landlord, tenant, property, and prospect information.
  • Research and prepare market surveys and compile data for listing proposals, including title searches and zoning reports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance complex projects under leadership guidance.
  • Analyze municipal planning and zoning policies to support development, master planning, and design.
  • Conduct due diligence by researching and evaluating feasibility.
  • Analyze technical reports and drawings.
  • Stay current on industry trends, municipal standards, and policy updates.
  • Conduct market research to assess inputs and assumptions for feasibility analyses and market positioning.
  • Enhance GIS mapping and infrastructure mapping capabilities Assist in the creation of internal and external reports
  • Maintain market research on data center sites, power and fiber availability, and other economic factors.
  • Research new data center market information for various cities.
  • Coordinate account management activities.
  • Refine and improve team tools and templates (MS Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, project management tools, RFI, and RFP).
  • Provide technical insights into the tech industry to identify emerging prospects and draft articles on data center topics for team web pages.
  • Handle miscellaneous requests and special projects as required by the team.

Financial Analysis

  • Assist with the preparation of financial models in Excel and Argus, pro forma statements, and projections.
  • Abstract leases and prepare proposals.
  • Analyze rent rolls and operating statements of properties being considered for sale.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Technology, Planning, Real Estate, Business, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in the technology/data center industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a positive team attitude.

Job Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong problem-solving ability (define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions).
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy and product quality.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Professional work ethic and commitment.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Preferred but not mandatory skills

  • Understanding of land use planning policies, regulations, and approval processes.
  • Experience with Adobe applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) and electronic marketing (Twitter, LinkedIn) and mapping technology like Google earth.

Physical Requirements:

  • Involves general office work, including extended periods of sitting and/or computer operation.
  • Regular travel between floors and buildings may be required.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Regular use of office machinery, including telephones, computers, fax, and photocopy machines.
  • Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear.
