We are seeking a Data Architect to join our Information Technology department to propose and support the implementation of systems and technology plans, architectures and standards in order to meet the company's strategic goals.

What the Role Entails:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders and analysts to develop data strategies and architectures that align with business goals
  • Conduct data discovery and trace data lineage
  • Create and maintain data architecture blueprints and roadmap
  • Write complex SQL queries for intricate data analysis, profiling, and retrieval
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including database designs, ER diagrams, data flow charts, system architecture diagrams, data lineage, metadata, and other relevant details
  • Manage and update a data dictionary, source inventories, and reference/master data sets
  • Create and refine data models to accurately represent the organization's data assets and inter-relationships, based on a clear understanding of business requirements
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Design and implementation of schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and other database objects.
  • Establish and enforce data quality and governance to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance
  • Integrate diverse data sources ensuring that data can be combined and accessed effectively
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve objectives and adhere to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with data governance teams to uphold data quality, security and compliance standards within the Data Lakehouse environment.
  • Provide technical guidance, and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Assess and recommend data-related technologies and tools

The Successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data modeling, including experience with relational, star and snowflake schemas.
  • Strong expertise in database design principles, data architecture, ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with various database including Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with various data platforms such as Microsoft Power BI, Databricks, Apache Spark, Snowflake.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud, Python development,
  • Familiarity with data integration, ETL, visualization tools and technologies.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and security best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and strong customer focus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and managed multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Property and Casualty insurance background (Nice to have).
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and credit check.
