What is the opportunity?

The Associate Director, Enterprise Liquidity Risk Measurement is a key role within Corporate Treasury where you will support the Head of RBC Liquidity Measurement in providing regulatory, management and financial liquidity reporting by enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls around processing and analyzing liquidity data to ensure the provision of timely, accurate and reliable information.


This role will extract, manipulate and analyze data from a variety of sources to formulate insightful conclusions, provide strategic recommendations, and inform management actions, both as part of routine people-level analytics and in support of new initiatives; as well as analyze, clean, and process large structured or unstructured datasets and generate useful business insights that drive decision making.

What you will do?

  • Controlling LRM infrastructure and data integrity: Reviewing standard reporting and providing guarantee on integrity of data (Daily, Monthly, Quarterly). The role includes daily monitoring of RBC's on and off balance sheet data of approx. CAD$ 2 trillion value of positions via daily database health checks, dashboard monitoring, management of static data reference tables, reconciliation of trade data and co-ordination with IT for issues related to data.
  • Project Management: Assisting with project based initiatives as required. It includes leading change and systems transformations that impact our liquidity data. This involves extensive research on data acquisition, conversion testing, managing of regional contributors and collating and managing data issues so that the impact to our regulatory and management reporting is minimal and our concerns are addressed prior to implementation.
  • Operational processes and reporting architecture: Reviewing and providing feedback on operational processes and reporting architecture. This includes analysis of data flows and interdependent elements to allow for the correct logic to implement in complex systems and recommending enhancements for change.
  • Managing changes - regulatory and new products/businesses: Remaining current on regulatory guidance and changes and providing guidance on new regulation for new products and/or businesses.
  • Work with a team of liquidity specialists that conduct daily data integrity health checks, coordinate analysis with regional partners, guide database and system development and maintenance activity from an end-user perspective
  • Leverage visualization tools/packages to story-tell and to convey data-driven insights with actionable recommendations to key stakeholders

What you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Financial Institutions
  • 5+ years of experience in data solutions and applying data techniques
  • Strong knowledge of design, development, and implementation experience utilizing data science technologies
  • 3+ years of experience in programing and scripting languages such as Python and SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong business acumen and analytical thinker. Requires attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills; specifically able to act as change agent, facilitator and collaborator
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are considered necessary for the success of this role

Nice to Have

  • CA, CPA, CMA Designation
  • Detailed knowledge of Capital Markets businesses, products and systems would be an asset
