What is the opportunity?

As a leading automotive financial service provider, RBC Automotive Finance (AF) strives to be the lender of choice for the automotive industry in Canada and build lasting relationships with dealers, manufacturers and consumers. The AF business is one of the most dynamic and interesting lines of business across Personal & Commercial Banking. It is the platform's core indirect lending business wherein the dealer acts as a broker and decides where to send the client's application, and the business therefore caters to two levels of clients (i.e. the dealer and the end consumer). For new vehicles, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners may establish financing programs to support their sales volume targets through subvented financing rates offering. In this case, the business caters to three levels of clients (i.e. the vehicle manufacturer, the dealer and the end consumer).

AF possesses a few unique dynamics that sets it apart from the rest of the Personal Financing Products businesses - it has its own salesforce that reports directly to the business, and the commercial and retail sides of the business are combined under one umbrella. The Manufacturer Partnerships team, a part of the broader retail team, is responsible for product management activities to achieve business objectives for Indirect Lending under the subvented loan portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the intern to meaningfully impact the client experience of our OEM partners by supporting the Manufacturer Partnerships team with its internal and client-facing reporting.

What will you do?

  • Support the product team with the development, optimization and distribution of portfolio performance reporting to clients (OEMs)
  • Contribute to the achievement of subvention billing KPIs by reviewing, investigating and reconciling OEM invoices
  • Develop and present billing reconciliation reporting to team leadership at monthly management oversight meeting
  • Support the product team with product ideas, policy maintenance, escalations and risk mitigation activities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written/oral communication skills to develop and convey thoughtful and insightful explanations
  • Strong MS Excel skillset
  • Attention to detail and time management
