The Transformation Program aims to provide the systems, processes and policies to best support the University's academic and research mission. This involves creating processes that use modern technology to drive operational efficiency and reduce manual work. The Process Excellence Specialist is a key member of the Transformation Implementation Office (TIO), and is responsible for overseeing the review of processes, systems and procedures as identified in the transformation plan.
Working closely with the Transformation Team, senior managers and staff, the Process Excellence Specialist analyzes current practices and develops business processes aligned with Laurentian's technology strategy. This work may involve changing workflows, structures, and teams to improve service delivery performance.
The Process Excellence Specialist utilizes industry-leading quality improvement methodologies such as Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management to drive operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks. This role is instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the TIO, working closely with workstream leads and departmental staff to build and enhance their continuous improvement capabilities.
The Process Excellence Specialist stays abreast of industry trends and best practices, promoting innovation, collaboration, and effective cross-functional partnerships within the University. This position is essential in supporting Laurentian's academic and research mission by leveraging modern technology and strategic improvements to achieve operational excellence.
The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
