What you will do

The Corporate Security Policy and Planning Analyst participates in the development and implementation of security policies, directives, guidelines and procedures as well process solutions, systems and services that effectively support the Councils operational and informational requirements, security program in the fields of personnel security, contract security, physical security, security awareness, emergency preparedness and business continuity. Participates in the execution of projects and works with clients to ensure that program requirements, business goals, and project deliverables relating to security are met.

What you need to succeed

Education

Experience

  • Experience in working with diverse stakeholders, such as consultants, task forces and working groups with various federal government entities (an asset), Lead Security Agencies, and other private sector stakeholders
  • Experience providing advice to senior management
  • Experience participating in the business planning process
  • Experience preparing communications materials, developing and implementing tools and templates in the field of Security and Emergency Management
  • Experience in reviewing and writing policies, reports and briefing notes for senior management
  • Experience in applying GC TBS Policies, Directives and Standards for government security, including physical security, security screening, emergency and business continuity management (an asset)
  • Experience with the development of business continuity plans that is compliant to government policies (an asset)

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of physical security, including ID access control systems and associated monitoring and reporting
  • Knowledge of GC TBS policies, Directives and Standards for government security
  • Knowledge in the field of Government of Canada security and emergency management planning
  • Knowledge of Open-Source Intelligence gathering approaches and techniques

  • Ability to interpret regulations, legislation, policies, acts, code and standards
  • Ability to plan, manage and analyze and evaluate information, identify issues and make recommendations
