JOB SUMMARY

The mandate of the Transit Customer Systems and Planning Service is to provide customer service, service planning and technology and control systems support for OC Transpo, geared to providing excellence in customer service delivery to 100 million transit customers per year by means of conventional bus, para transit and rail operations.

You are responsible for the on-going analysis of the organization’s operational application suites in one of the following areas:

  • Fare Systems Applications

Within the assigned area, you are responsible for:

  • Providing support, training, guidance and clarification to the Business Unit employees and other departmental staff on the use of the application suite and the resolution of issues
  • Analyzing business requirements
  • Recommending and implementing new or improved functionality
  • Serving as a functional source of expertise
  • Maintaining the functionality of the application suite
  • Liaising with the vendor to support the application
  • Coordinating and collaborating with internal staff in the on-going configuration of the application suite

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 3 year university degree in computer science, business administration or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis/information systems administration or support or coordination.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Business analysis practices, techniques, report writing and business intelligence platforms
  • Transit related systems and vendors
  • Project management techniques
  • Information systems development processes and practices, software lifecycle
  • Client/server computer technology
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet, graphics, word processing and data retrieval applications
  • Application and/or network security administration
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
