About you: Vital Biosciences is seeking a talented Data Analyst/Data Scientist with experience in scientific and technical analysis projects to work on a path-breaking product. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing internal data analysis tools, performing bespoke analyses to develop insights and aid the development of complex system-level applications within Vital's flagship product. What you will be doing: Develop and maintain internal tools, pipelines, and frameworks for analyzing complex scientific and technical data sets. Collaborate directly with scientists and engineers to understand project requirements, conduct exploratory data analyses, and deliver meaningful insights to guide product development and optimization. Design and implement interactive dashboards and visualizations to track key performance indicators, product performance metrics, and operational processes. Apply statistical methods and modeling techniques to evaluate assay performance, identify trends, and support product validation. Prepare and refine data and reports for regulatory submissions, ensuring compliance with FDA guidelines and other relevant standards. Continuously improve and optimize data workflows, integrating best practices for data quality, integrity, and reproducibility. Stay up-to-date with emerging tools, technologies, and methods in data science, and proactively recommend enhancements to existing processes. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field (e.g. Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, or related discipline). Motivated fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Proven experience using Python for data analysis, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Streamlit and SciPy. Strong foundation in statistics and applied data analysis techniques. Demonstrated ability to extract actionable insights from complex and unstructured data, supported by previous project examples or publications. Experience creating dashboards and visualizations using tools like Plotly, Dash, Tableau, or similar platforms. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (R&D scientists, engineers, QA/RA professionals) and present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with IVD product development, FDA regulatory processes, or healthcare data is a plus, but not strictly required. Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and adapting to evolving priorities. Excellent problem-solving, data analysis and critical thinking skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.
