Job Description:

Are you a collaborative facilitator with a consulting mindset, an eye for efficiency, and a bias for taking action? If so, consider joining the Global Transformation and Agility team as a Senior Consultant, Process Transformation.

The Global Transformation and Agility team is an internal transformation team that works with business leaders to optimize processes, transform operating models, and identify opportunities for automation. Serving Sun Life's Corporate, IT, and Sun Life Capital Management stakeholders, the Senior Consultant, Process Transformation will pair their consulting mindset with a Lean Six Sigma toolkit, and an understanding of automation tools to drive process improvement and digital transformation.

Our most successful Consultants are results-oriented contributors with a track record of leading digital transformation projects to design and implement process improvements that deliver measurable and sustainable results. What will you do?

  • Build operating models for various business areas which include the process, people, and system capabilities needed to meet business goals

  • Assess the performance and capability of processes and operational groups (throughput, cycle time, productivity, waste, etc.)

  • Identify opportunities and champion proposals for improvement (process analysis, business case)

  • Apply process improvement methods to solve complex problems, while analyzing data from diverse teams across global operations and designing efficient and effective process solutions (value streams, workflow, metrics, staffing, etc.)

  • Manage the controlled deployment of process and operational changes (pilots, change control, minimize go-live risks, etc.)

  • Conduct Kaizen events and facilitate problem solving sessions with operations teams

  • Using advanced knowledge of efficiency tools and automation capabilities, evaluate and prepare processes for automation

  • Lead project management activities including planning, scheduling, governance, and execution to successful completion, including maintaining full documentation of the project lifecycle

  • Be a consistent and strong contributor to the team by providing innovative ideas for improving our own productivity and management practices

  • Commit to self-development towards mastery of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) practices, tools and methodologies, project management principles and industry knowledge

What do you need to succeed?

  • Exceptional consulting skills, featuring outstanding active listening and insightful questioning abilities

  • Adept at fostering connections throughout the organization, swiftly earning others' trust and respect

  • Skilled at uniting diverse viewpoints and guiding teams toward shared objectives

  • Demonstrates superior communication skills, both written and verbal, tailoring messages to resonate with all organizational levels

  • Strong project management orientation with the ability to prioritize work deliverables and competing priorities

  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced data analysis and visualization, with a proven track record of extracting actionable insights from complex datasets to drive strategic decision-making

  • Drives for change through a strong ability to influence business partners and execute ideas through to completion

  • ​University degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities

  • Experience with automation and tools such as GenAI, PowerBI, Power Apps, Pega, Blue Prism, Tableau, etc.

  • Formal training in Lean/Lean Six Sigma preferred; LMS and/or LSS Black Belt certification preferred

  • Expert level knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS VISIO

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
