Job Summary

This team consists of individuals with financial and business background and is responsible for:•Definition of corporate performance metrics•Definition of corporate reporting standards•Definition of reports and reporting requirements•Definition of reports usage•Definition of accessrights to reportsThe Director, Data & Analytics, is a business minded individual responsible for understanding the data needs across the enterprise, building data capabilities, products and services and ensuring these data solutions are consumed by the business, providing business insight, improving business decision making while aligning with data regulation and compliance.

The Director is responsible for scaling the data function, building and executing the company data strategy, ensuring business users utilizing data and analytics to their full potential, and tracking value from investments in data solutions.

The Data & Analytics Director will build the Data Function dashboard measuring and continusously improving the function metrics in terms of talent, data quality, users adoption, infrastructure performance, cost efficiency, vendors management, culture change and business outcome.

Job Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy Development
  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's overall business strategy
  • Collaborate with business users to identify use cases where data can deliver business outcome in the specific context of the company
  • Demand Management:
  • Engage, collaborate and build trusted relationships with all levels of stakeholders
  • Engage with the business and collect demand for Data-driven products and services.
  • Maintain a direct relationship with users, seek their feedback and drive continuous improvement.
  • Data Governance, Compliance, Security & Risk:
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Stay informed about data privacy regulations
  • Identify and mitigate data-related risks
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for data assets.
  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to address potential vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Data Quality and Master Data Management:
  • Oversee the design and implementation of data management frameworks, including data architecture, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Develop and maintain data standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Oversee master data management initiatives to ensure a single, accurate, and consistent version of key data entities across the organization.
  • Use of knowledge and expertise to identify improvements through reducing data redundancy and appropriate data reuse
  • Technical Architecture & Infrastructure:
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage data infrastructure and technologies
  • Evaluate and stay current with emerging technologies
  • Define and oversee the organization's data architecture, including database systems, data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions for data storage and processing.
  • Plan for the scalability of data infrastructure
  • Monitor performance and implement optimizations to handle increasing data volumes.
  • Ensure that the data architecture is scalable, flexible, cost effective and aligned with business goals.
  • Data Integration and ETL Solutions (Extract, Transform, Load):
  • Implement and manage processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into a unified and consistent format.
  • Optimize data integration workflows to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
  • Visiualization, Analytics and Business Intelligence Tools:
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of analytics and business intelligence tools that empower users to derive insights from data.
  • Develop and execute a plan to maximize self-service capabilities for internal users and customers.
  • Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across the enterprise.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing data-related technologies and services.
  • Negotiate contracts, evaluate service levels, and ensure the organization receives value from its technology investments.
  • Team Leadership & Culture:
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing data team.
  • Build a team to deliver data analytics to both transform internal processes and create new business offerings.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, data science, analytics or AI (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, Artificial Intelligence).
  • 10+ years of experience in team leadership roles building and leading effective and high performing technical, software and engineering teams, delivering corporate grade technical solutions.
  • Practical experience implementingdata products and services. Understanding of data compliance and regulation requirements in a corporate context.
  • Strong understanding and hands on experience of the data lifecycle from capture and storage to analytics, reporting and archiving.
  • Proven track record influencing a diverse set of stakeholders to drive business outcomes out of investments in technology.
  • Capability to liaise with all levels across the enterprise on projects and ad-hoc requests
