Position Summary

The DRIvE Innovation Team is looking for a Business Analyst Intern who will work at the forefront of leveraging emergent and disruptive technologies, including artificial intelligence, to drive sustainable digital transformation across the business. We take on innovation challenges from all areas of the company, and our customer, and employ agile methodologies to envision and develop solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of our customers, primarily in the maritime industry and government sectors. Our team includes engineers, maritime professionals, AI and data engineers, design specialists and others. We focus on refining use cases, understanding business needs, and applying design thinking techniques to help envision solutions that can improve capabilities, readiness, and operational efficiency. In this role, you will contribute to contextualizing these challenges, particularly through the lens of rapidly evolving geopolitical dynamics, enabling better strategic decision-making for the future.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Innovation Challenge Analysis: Work closely with the DRIvE Innovation Team to understand and analyze innovation challenges from across the business. Conduct research to identify how emergent technologies - especially Artificial Intelligence (AI) - can be applied to these challenges and refine use cases for potential solutions.
  • Emergent Technology Integration: Help assess the practical applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other disruptive technologies within the context of our solutions for the maritime and government sectors. Contribute to the design of systems and solutions that harness these technologies to drive transformation.
  • Use Case and Design Thinking Support: Apply design thinking techniques to help the team refine use cases, better understand customer needs, and collaborate on envisioning impactful solutions. Your insights will help bridge the gap between innovation and practical, real-world implementation.
  • Geopolitical and Industry Trend Analysis: Given the current unpredictability and rapid change in the global geopolitical landscape, help interpret how these shifts impact the future needs and capabilities of our customers. Your analysis will provide vital context to our innovation efforts and ensure that solutions are forward-thinking and adaptable to global changes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with both internal teams and external customers to capture and prioritize business requirements. Help facilitate conversations that align business needs with technological possibilities, ensuring that proposed solutions are feasible and impactful.
  • Implementation Support: Engage with cross-functional teams during agile sprints, analyzing and synthesizing data that supports the development of new solutions. Track progress, evaluate feasibility, and ensure alignment with the strategic direction of the business.
  • Foresight and Strategic Thinking: Help anticipate future trends and emerging challenges by conducting foresight

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in business, technology, political science, international relations or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other business tools such as MS Teams and Adobe; familiarity with data analysis tools, AI concepts, and emerging technologies is a plus.
