The Resource Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing resource planning and scheduling within the organization. Reporting to the Resource Specialist, the Resource Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining short-term planning surrounding schedules, monitoring and achieving KPI targets, liaising with stakeholders, managing various resource-related activities, and fostering collaboration between administrative and operational sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, deploy, and maintain short-term planning strategies to ensure optimal resource allocation and scheduling.

· Collaborate with Resource Optimization Team to gather scheduling requirements and align them with business objectives.

· Proactively identify potential issues or conflicts and propose solutions to ensure smooth operations.

· Manage various resource-related activities, including accommodations, shift and vacation bids, overtime, shift donations and trades, and leave of absence.

· Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of resource-related information, including shifts, availability, and schedule changes.

· Collaborate with HR, Recruitment, and Training teams to identify resource needs and assist in the recruitment process for attrition or additional positions as requested by the client.

· Work closely with the Training Department to coordinate Screening Personnel scheduling and attendance at National Training and Certification program courses, including on-the-job training, certification testing, and other training activities.

· Analyze schedule efficiency and resource utilization, identify improvement areas, and implement continuous improvement processes.

· Provide regular updates and insights on resource-related metrics, trends, and recommendations to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Requirements:

· Post secondary education in business administration or related field preferred.

· 2-3 years in resource planning or similar roles

· Proficient in Power BI, scheduling software with strong analytical skills

· Exceptional multitasking skills with attention to detail

· Build positive relationships, and foster collaboration.

· Flexible to adapt to changing priorities.

· Work effectively in a collaborative work environment

· Ability to obtain and retain a RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card) and Transport Canada Clearance

· Best Practices - Maintain processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Support and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures. This includes following specific directions and being able to assist with operational tasks as necessary.

· Ability to Follow Directions - Liaison with management. Assist in the development of daily workforce plans for operational activity. Implement and monitor operational plans and be able to provide feedback and solutions to operational management. Strong ability to listen, comprehend, and follow the unique style of their direct manager, yet be able to provide insight or feedback respectfully and appropriately.

· Workforce Planning- Monitor performance and implement improvements. Provide technical support where necessary.

Working Conditions:

· Most of the time is spent at the front line of the business (indoors) but may, on occasion, work outside, with frequent opportunities to move around.

· Physical requirements include but are not limited to - standing, lifting, bending, stooping, and kneeling.

· Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

· Are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable daily.

· Work near others. They often share the same workspace and work with other incumbents holding the same position.

· Work schedule is generally defined but can be altered frequently, resulting in schedule changes.

· Overtime may be required, dependent on operational requirements.
