As theCustoms Operations Process Manager, Canadayou will lead the CA Customs Operations Processing Centers and Field Operations Teams. You will provide input to and lead the implementation of functional strategy to provide preparation and clearance of documentation through the relevant authorities. You will drive the productivity of the operations team by ensuring delivery of high service quality. You will guide and advise customers on Customs operations and regulations in line with business strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines, and policies.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks:
Lead CA Customs operations strategy at country level in line with business strategy and requirements, corporate guidelines, and policies and in alignment with the Head of Customs, Canada
Establish and implement strategies that have short to long-term (1-5 years) impact on business results in alignment with global and functional objectives
Develop business processes to organize and monitor customs operations to optimize service and performance
Be seen as a thought leader for ad-hoc operational questions with regards to accounts which are being serviced
Define business process plans to monitor operational performance as against set targets, provide feedback and develop improvement plan, when required
Build and develop and maintain relations with other internal functions such as Airfreight and Ocean Freight operational heads, sales, customer service, etc. and global services centers, as required
Lead achievement of high standards of operational quality throughout customs operations, data quality and support functions at country level
Provide expert and high-level advice on complex issues, benchmark, approve and introduce best practices and quality standards for Customs focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
Work with customers on key process improvement initiatives to drive enhanced performance and profitability
Supports the Head of Customs, Canada with the P/L performance of processing centers and Global Service Centers
Oversee Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) performance, attainment to target and corrective actions/continuous improvement plans
Key Requirements and Skills:
8+ years Operational Experience within the Customs brokerage, logistics, transportation, industry
Cargowise Operational experience with CCO certification or higher
Proven track record of people management, coaching, talent development, and leadership
Ability to develop and maintain exceptional relationships with customers (internal and external)
Proven track record of taking initiative to accomplish tasks in creative ways with a sense of urgency and assertiveness
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation for Canada required
Advanced Excel skills required
