PURPOSE
The Analyst, Retail Leasing is accountable to the Director, Retail Leasing for assisting the leasing
executives in deal analysis and deal gathering, as well as respective workflow, monitoring, and
maintaining leasing information and statistical data on characteristics, composition, and performance of
assets under administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leasing Analysis and Reporting
Performs various analysis and reporting pertaining to leasing activities of individual portfolios, including financial analysis and modeling of proposed deals, collection and analysis of market rent data, leasing activity reporting, leasing costs and fees reporting, budget variance analysis, and tenant credit information reporting. Prepares tenant-specific packages, develops presentations for the leasing team, and incorporates insights on future market trends to support strategic decision-making. These efforts ensure that the leasing plan for the property is executed in line with the budget, while adapting to emerging market conditions and optimizing tenant engagement.

2. Leasing Deals
Assists in the preparation of various types of leasing documentation for the property, including new,
renewals and extensions, expansions, relocations etc. by actively supporting leasing executives with
positive relationships with tenants and real estate brokers to ensure that existing vacant space is
leased and the value of the property is positively affected.

3. Merchandising Plan and Leasing Strategy
Assist in the development of the Merchandising Plan and the Leasing Strategy for the shopping
center to optimize and to build on the market strengths of the property.

4. Relationships within Real Estate Industry
Networks in the retail industry to establish and build knowledge of retail market trends, market
conditions, retailers, new market opportunities and methodology, as well as competitor activity, to
develop and maintain positive relationships with various parties within the industry.

5. Budgeting and Reforecasting
Participates in property budgeting and reforecasting for leasing costs, leasing fees and tenant rental
revenue in accordance with the existing accounting calendar to ensure that the current budget
reflects the best possible estimate of the occupancy status and on-going leasing activity.

6. Database Development and Maintenance
Collects, organizes, and maintains a database of economic and real estate statistics to support decision-making for leasing activities and property operations. Present key data to assist in effectively pitching and selling locations to prospective tenants, offering key insights that highlight the value and potential of each property.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Commerce, Finance, Urban Geography) or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g. MS Office applications, etc.), Power BI experience is an asset
  • Previous experience with leases.
