Enterprise and Data Architect

We are looking for a detail-oriented enterprise and data architect to assist in our organization's digital transformation. The enterprise data architect's responsibilities include improving current technology, optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating information applications and programs. The enterprise architect is also responsible for cataloging, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to perform the organization's business and technology activities adequately.

To be successful as an enterprise data architect, you should have excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills. You should also have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Enterprise Architect Responsibilities:

· Architectural Leadership: Develop and champion architecture best practices, fostering a culture of excellence in architectural design and implementation across the organization. Collaborate with key IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

· Enterprise Architecture Advisory: Provide expert advice on the enterprise architecture landscape, spanning technology, information, data, security, and integration. Evaluate and identify IT-related risks, developing strategies to address them effectively.

· Technology Strategy and Planning: Develop technology strategies to mitigate IT risks and enhance the efficiency of the IT organization. Contribute to the formulation of overall solution strategies and roadmaps.

· Business Case Development: Assist in building business cases and conducting TCO and ROI calculations to support technology investments. Estimate the work effort required for TCO and ROI calculations accurately.

· Solution Architecture: Develop and document IT solution architecture in relation to projects, ensuring alignment with overarching architectural principles and standards.

· Collaboration and Alignment: Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that technology decisions and blueprints align with the overall system architecture. Actively participate in the Architecture Review Board.

· Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to various audiences (technical and non-technical) within the organization. Demonstrate leadership in supporting projects end-to-end, collaborating closely with Project Managers to ensure successful implementation.

· Research and Evaluation: Conduct technology assessments, strategic assessments of technologies and trends, and tactical research to inform architectural decisions. Conduct product evaluations and develop proof of concept on new products.

· Guideline Development: Develop guidelines that are compliant with industry standards and best practices for technology/system implementations, ensuring consistency and quality across the organization.

· Evaluating internal functions, business development strategies, and IT processes and suggesting improvements.

· Creating business architecture models to reflect the organization's strategies and goals and creating and implementing business visions and goals.

· Suggesting ideas to reduce costs in IT and business leadership.

· Organizing training to improve employees' knowledge and skills for future organizational growth.

· Providing business architecture and systems processing guidance.

· Creating methods for compliance architecture, such as data storage, metadata management, and change control.

· Determining and implementing build versus buy strategies, mentor personnel, and views of the overall business strategy.

· Conducted data discovery and traced data lineage, collaborating with the Data and Reporting team.

· Create and maintain data architecture blueprints and roadmap.

· Develop and maintain technical documentation, including database designs, ER diagrams, data flow charts, system architecture diagrams, data lineage, metadata, and other relevant details

· Manage and update a data dictionary, source inventories, and reference/master data sets.

· Create and refine data models to accurately represent the organization's data assets and inter-relationships based on a clear understanding of business requirements.

· Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models

· Design and implement schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and other database objects.

· Establish and enforce data quality and governance to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance.

· Integrate diverse data sources, ensuring that data can be combined and accessed effectively

· Collaborate with data governance teams to uphold data quality, security and compliance standards within the Data Lakehouse environment.

· Assess and recommend data-related technologies and tools

Enterprise Architect Requirements:

· A bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.

· Excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good leadership and motivational skills.

· Experience in modelling and graphic representations.

· A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, IT Architect, or Data Architect in complex technical environments.

· Minimum five (5) years of experience with TOGAF, Zachman or comparable architecture frameworks; and Technical Debt Management.

· 2 years' experience in Healthcare;

· 5 years' experience in developing application, information and/or technology architectures;

· 5 Years of experience participating in vendor assessments and creating solution options;

· Experience acting as a lead IT architect and leading teams. Desired Qualifications/Requirements The ideal Resource will have the following qualifications and have experience fulfilling the following job requirements.

· In-depth understanding of off the shelf software, common hardware and security

· Sound knowledge of large-scale applications, computing, networking, middleware, data standards, and best practice industry trends in their application.

· Proven experience in the development of Architecture Strategies, specifically related to the Cloud.

· Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, project management, and expert advice on the change management process (people, tools and technology).

· Demonstrated experience planning & implementing Data management architecture, Data Masking and Data Quality platforms, secure data provisioning using Role Based Access methodology, and Enterprise Data Governance (including Data Catalogue).

· Experience in developing a strategic Enterprise Information Architecture (Platform) to enable the organization to achieve "continuing improvement" that accommodates emerging tools, technologies, standards, and methodologies.

· Demonstrated experience working with the following, with additional consideration for supporting users transitioning to, Microsoft Azure products including Data Factory, Synapse, Microsoft SQL Server, PowerBI, DataBricks.

· Demonstrated experience working with the following: (Big Data Management, Data Masking)

· Hadoop, Splunk, Role Based Access Methodology, MicroStrategy, MongoDB, Power BI.

· Microsoft certifications with Azure Data Platform are highly desired including:

· DataOps and DevOps; and, • Cloud governance (monitoring, security and cost management

· Expertise in working with senior business and technology leaders to ensure technology and business areas understand the architectural options and technology choices in support of their business initiatives.

· Experience with Agile development and CI/CD methodologies, including supporting platforms such as Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Jenkins or Jira.

· Experience designing and/or working with microservices architecture, including API gateways and/or service mesh.

· Experience architecting robust and cost-effective solutions for both public cloud and on-premises hosting. Specific experience with Microsoft Azure or GCP.

· Demonstrated ability in conceptual architecture and design, with exceptional analytical and abstract thinking skills.

· Outstanding interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
