Paint Process Manager

Job Summary

The Paint Process Manager will oversee and support Skyjack's paint operations in Canada (Ontario) to ensure quality, efficiency, and throughput targets are met. They may also be called upon to support our Mexico, China and Hungary locations as required. The role involves managing and directing all aspects of the paint processes, and ensuring alignment with best practices and Skyjack standards. This position will lead continuous improvement initiatives, capital projects, and system trials, while also ensuring operations meet timelines and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support paint processes in Skyjack's global facilities
  • Ensure that paint processes meet throughput, quality and efficiency targets
  • Direct and approve key elements of paint processes including operating procedures, paint rack design and approval, paint application systems and paint pretreatment processes
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance paint processes, including process optimization, waste reduction, and workflow improvements, driving innovation across all facilities
  • Direct and manage paint-related capital projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and within allocated budgets, coordinating with other departments as needed
  • Oversee and direct all paint application system trials, ensuring successful implementation and validation of new technologies and systems across global operations
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of paint processes with broader manufacturing operations
  • Maintaining the highest health and safety standards
  • Provide training as necessary to plant personnel

Credentials

  • University or College degree or diploma in a relevant field or demonstrated competence through experience.
  • Knowledge of PLC's.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience in both powder and wet paint applications
  • Experience with relevant paint application systems (Powder coatings and 2K liquid coatings)
  • Knowledge of part presentation racking design
  • Proven track record of leading capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to oversee operations across multiple international locations, with occasional travel required
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
