Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with all departments such as Food & Beverage, Wagering, Operations, IT, and People Experience to provide support and analysis related to financial performance of their respective department. You will also be a key liaison with our Finance Team on budgets, forecasts and month-end and year-end reviews. You will maintain a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation in financial modelling, financial reporting and presentations that will facilitate strategic decision making. You will work directly with the FP&A Director to establish a collaborative working environment where you will work with different departments to gather and consolidate data into meaningful reports, analysis and modelling using Advanced Excel and PowerPoint tools. This will lead to increased internal customer satisfaction through improved financial data and reporting, and better business decision making.

  • Support the enhancement of the budgeting and reporting templates and models and improving the budgeting and forecasting preparation process with all departments.

  • Enhance the month-end and quarter-end review sessions with Finance and Operations for Senior Leadership team through summarized reports with KPIs, variance analysis and updated full year projections. This includes the launch of a new management system and communication process within the organization.

  • Work with the business to help summarize monthly variance to budget and prior year in collaboration with business partners to qualify root cause qualitative and quantitative analysis.

  • Gather data from various departments and systems and produce meaningful financial reports, dashboards and models using Advanced excel tools

  • Facilitate operational month-end reviews for all operating departments and follow up on any financial changes with the leaders. Provide responses and feedback to requests from various departments regarding month end results and KPIs.

  • Analyze trends and identify risks and opportunities to support short and long-term business objectives

  • Ad hoc in-depth business analysis related to FTEs, payroll, and cost of goods - review of variances, trends, business reasons, and opportunities.

  • Lead on the creation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of Tableau dashboards and related reporting tools (ex. weekly SSRS reports, Squirrel IQ) to ensure management has the tools to make timely decisions related to the business.

  • Assist with training and education of non-finance stakeholders on all matters related to financial statements and processes to ensure they can incorporate it into their daily management of the business.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree (preference to Accounting or Business Administration)

  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting

  • Advanced Excel user and able to mine and analyze multiple levels of large data set leveraging macros, visual basics, power pivot and query

  • Advanced knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • 3-5 years of Data Analysis and Power BI experience preferred.

  • Excellent relationship building skills to perform efficiently in a cross functional environment.

  • Ability to prioritize work and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
