Data Scientist Student

About the Role

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives specifically focused on optimizing our manufacturing processes for exterior trim parts. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to provide insights and solutions that enhance our manufacturing operations, including co-extrusion, assembly, and molding.

Your Responsibilities

1. Work with the Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology teams to work on and accomplish goals set out by the facility.
2. Develop and implement data-driven models and algorithms that leverage machine learning and AI techniques to improve operational efficiency, quality, and productivity in co-extrusion, assembly, and molding.
3. Employ statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.
4. Clean, preprocess, and validate large datasets related to co-extrusion, assembly, and molding to ensure accuracy and reliability.
5. Conduct supervised experiments, A/B testing, and perform statistical analysis to measure the impact of proposed solutions on manufacturing operations.
6. Communicate findings and results in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders, including management, engineers, and manufacturing teams. Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Developers and Engineers to integrate data-driven solutions into production systems and optimize the manufacturing processes.

Who we are looking for

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, deep learning frameworks, and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is desirable.
• Working with data tools and protocols such as Kepware, MQTT and Mosquito
