Job Summary

Our company is searching for a highly analytical and detail-oriented financial analyst who will report directly to the Manager, FP&A. This role will analyze the company's financial and operating performance by completing and maintaining periodic financial and non-financial metrics and KPIs. Additionally, this role will gather financial data (e.g., labour costs, fuel spending, etc.) and conduct variance analysis, scenario analysis, month-end tasks, etc.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to management
  • Develop financial models & dashboards to support organizational decision-making
  • Analyze current business and system processes for potential areas for improvement
  • Develop new reports and ensure the accuracy of data and analysis
  • Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual costs
  • Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
  • Produce periodic reports, including KPIs, financial and non-financial results and analytical metrics
  • Help all business users achieve maximum utilization of systems to achieve process improvements and identify and communicate opportunities for automation
  • Work with end users to ensure newly operationalized processes are effectively implemented
  • Assist with month-end reporting by identifying relevant statistics, analyzing trends & conducting variance analysis

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Financial Analyst or Public Accounting experience
  • University Degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a focus on finance, accounting, or economics. Equivalent education or experience may be considered
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent, or working towards the accounting designation
  • Strong analytical sense, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to be self-driven, capable of adapting to change and simultaneously managing multiple tasks/ projects/ assignments
  • Ability to manage project milestones and risks with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred

  • Previous experience in corporate, manufacturing and/or supply chain logistics environments would be considered an asset
  • Experience with application conversion and process re-engineering
  • Proven ability to work with Power BI & basic understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Experience in financial forecasting and trend analytics
