Position Overview:

Are you looking for hands-on experience with real-world Data & Analytics Solutioning utilizing cutting-edge Cloud Technology? We are looking for two (2) Co-op IT - Business Intelligence & Analytics to join our Business Intelligence & Analytics Team.


As a Co-op on the Business Intelligence & Analytics Team, you will have the opportunity to work and learn on various streams of Data & Analytics domain- focusing on areas like data analysis, development & testing of Data Models, Reports\Dashboards, Data Engineering workflows/pipelines primarily utilizing tools & technology stack of Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Fabric (Power BI), Azure Purview and Tableau under the mentorship of experienced Data & Analytics professionals to support the digital transformation of Nova Scotia’s largest Power Utility.

Key Responsibilities:

Some key responsibilities you will perform depending on the project requirement aligning with your skill set & interest; If you have knowledge\experience\interest on any or some of these areas of responsibilities, we would love to hear from you:

  • Perform data analysis & profiling, build & test data models, semantic models for analytics use cases.
  • Build & test BI Reports\Dashboards (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Build & test data engineering (ETL\ELT\Streaming) flows, notebooks, pipelines (Azure Data Factory & Data Bricks).
  • Support in data solution deployments following Azure DevOps (CI-CD) practice.
  • Support in BIA daily operations- monitoring, troubleshooting, fixing issues on BIA Data Solutions.
  • Support in administering BIA Platforms (Tableau, Azure Fabric Power BI, MS Purview).
  • Develop technical documentations & artifacts such as runbook, low-level design specs, data mapping, information catalog.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor´s Degree, or Master’s Degree, or Diploma, in Computer Science, Data & Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or Data/Information Management.
  • Understanding of data modeling, reporting & analytics, data engineering (ETL), data streaming concepts.
  • Understanding or hands-on experience in any\some of the technologies- Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Fabric (Power BI), Tableau.
  • Good understanding or experience with database query language SQL\TSQL\KQL, and development coding language: Python, Bash\Shell scripting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
