About the role

Under the direction of the Senior Finance & Business Operations Manager, the Finance Manager will lead the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team within the Finance & Business Operations organization. This role will be crucial in driving the business' financial planning and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial analysis, forecasting, revenue recognition, system improvement and talent development.

As the FP&A Manager, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders and the various functions to provide key insights and support strategic decision making. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed financial models, conducting financial and non-financial analysis, reporting monthly financial figures and KPIs, negotiating billing rates with Canada, supporting both internal and external audits, ensuring the proper revenue recognition methodologies are being used in accordance with corporate policy and industry standards, supporting the development, test and implementation of system change and improvements, as well as other ad hoc reporting as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month end close process, reporting financial and KPI figures
  • Lead the annual budget development, administration and tracking process
  • Lead the yearly long range planning process setting the key financial targets for upcoming years
  • Lead the monthly rolling forecast process ensuring the latest business intelligence is incorporated and any risks and opportunities are tracked
  • Monitor short and long term cash flow
  • Negotiate billing rates with PSPC
  • Liase with both external and internal auditors
  • Provide subject matter expertise on revenue recognition
  • Performance monitoring and variance analysis
  • Process improvement and change management
  • Implementation of new SAP functionality

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, Access, and financial reporting tools (e.g. Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and financial reporting standards
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Collaborative mindset and experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Talent development and leadership experience
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Additional skills desired for the role

  • CPA designation considered an asset
  • Experience with SAP and it's various modules considered an asset
