About the Opportunity

The At the Elbow Lead provides technical oversight and subject matter expertise and day-to-day supervision and support of the Clinical implementation and maintenance activities related to specific application areas. The individual will lead the technical implementation of the build/configuration and changes/enhancements for assigned clinical applications in collaborative partnership with other ATE Leads and Managers.

The At the Elbow Lead independently addresses issues and designs decisions of moderate complexity with little or no supervision and delivers clear communication and documentation of complex concepts and issues related to clinical and non-clinical applications across the organization. This includes leading the analysis, resolution of issue, communication of resolution to affected users. The Lead Application Analyst also leads testing activities and finally leads training activities including creation of educational documentation and support to end users.

The At the Elbow Lead reports to the At the Elbow Manger, and oversees a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of initiatives and programs throughout the province as the organization moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy. The lead will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the organization to leverage IT applications in support of NSH's and its client's strategic mission, vision and goals. The lead performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, coordination of resources and stakeholders; managing timelines and milestones; documenting outcomes; and, monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of activities to the appropriate leadership team members. Additionally, this lead position ensures that all activities within their responsible area are supported by the NSH IM/IT business plan, established policies/procedures, and in line with service level agreements between NSH, IWK and the department of health.

This position is flexible in location across Nova Scotia. It is designated as hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work without the necessity of relocating to the Halifax area.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science Information systems or health related field. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in Clinical Application implementation, previous Lead experience preferred.
  • previous Lead experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting clinical applications systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment considered an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of healthcare industry required; familiarity with clinical and administrative hospital functions and departments preferred.
  • Experience in Inpatient Nursing & Allied Health/Women's Health care is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation and oversight.
  • Experience in data analytics.

  • Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Work, and MS Power Point
  • Ability to speak and write in English is required

Hours

  • Long-assignment, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Biweekly
  • Approximately 18 months with possibility of extension (assignment length subject to change)

Compensation and Benefits

$40.15 - $50.19 Hourly
