Senior Manager - Logistics Shared Services North America

Reporting to the Director of North American Logistics and working out of our Canadian corporate office in Vancouver, this role will be responsible for leading a diverse and inclusive team that provides Shared Services support for all of West Fraser's outbound Logistics representing the second highest spend in the company. This newly created role will be instrumental in driving change across our Logistics organization to standardize processes and establish best practices in addition to an intentional focus on continuous improvement in Logistics performance.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a diverse and inclusive team of 12+ Logistics professionals providing Shared Services support for all West Fraser's outbound Logistics
  • Work collaboratively with Sales teams to understand sales strategies and provide world class Logistics support to our Customer base
  • Work with the senior management team to ensure logistics has strategic alignment in the business
  • Work with Logistics leadership to
    • prioritize safe, efficient, cost effective and sustainable movement of our product
    • build out a Logistics strategy while streamlining and standardizing processes across commodities recognizing best practices
    • develop and maintain contingency plans to mitigate transportation risks and ensure business continuity
  • develop resources to support logistics strategy inclusive of technology, data analytics and contract governance
  • work with existing carrier base to strengthen relationships and achieve better understanding of capabilities/needs and define opportunities to grow
  • develop KPI's for both internal team and external partners to set expectations and evaluate success

Who You Are:

  • Ability to Travel - up to 30% both domestic and international.
  • Business degree specializing in Supply Chain and/or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Logistics
  • High level of proficiency with transportation management, ERP software, and Power BI
  • Experience planning and managing at both the strategic and tactical level
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and logistics best practices
  • Ability to drive change and manage multiple priorities
  • Continuous improvement focus
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership skills

Our highly competitive compensation package includes:

  • Competitive base salary with annual bonus opportunity and the salary range is between $132,541-$149,100 annually depending on location, education, and work experience.
  • Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, DC pension plan, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.
  • For candidates outside of Vancouver and the area, relocation assistance is provided.
