Main Purpose and Function: The Senior Fire Data Systems Analyst is responsible for data capturing and data integration work related to the design and delivery of RMS data for VFRS consumption, requiring access to various personnel information. The position will interface with senior management and be responsible for designing and configuring solutions to support the strategic direction for the Department. The Senior Data Systems Analyst is responsible for configuration of the data tools and technologies which result in changes in methods, processes, resources, and
procedures that impact operational areas. Responsible for the design and build-out of the data architecture that supports both central data application creation as well as enabling self-service advanced business practices and supporting the design and adoption of data governance and data management. The work performed will enable VFRS to leverage performance metrics to support strategic, operation and financial decisions as well as support service transformation by driving accountability, improving transparency and increasing value for money. Technologies in use or may be used in the future include: Qlik, PowerBI, Excel, FDM, First Due, SAP, Telestaff.
Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships: The position reports directly to the Assistant Chief of Strategy and Policy and works closely with managers and staff in as well as key business representatives across the City. Works with front-line supervisors, departmental calibrates tools to translate raw data into valuable business insights and provides insights and recommendations to senior staff using strong logical reasoning skills and business intelligence to drive high performance and quality.
