Job Summary:
As a Payroll Business Analyst, you will play a key role in optimizing and enhancing Payroll Operations' use of Workday and related technologies. This position requires broad knowledge in HR, finance, and payroll, coupled with technical expertise in ERP systems, particularly Workday. You will collaborate closely with the Integrated Service Centre (ISC), IT departments, and internal stakeholders to advise on system capabilities, improve processes, and resolve business challenges aligned with Payroll Operations' strategic goals.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the functionality and integrity of Payroll systems at UBC. Errors could lead to financial losses, compliance issues, or operational inefficiencies affecting staff and the university community.
Supervision Received:
Operates independently under the general direction of the Manager, Payroll Services and Analytics, ensuring objectives and deadlines are met effectively.
Supervision Given:
Leads changes in processes and systems, provides technical guidance and support to Payroll and distributed users, and serves as a key point of contact for project teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
Minimum of five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of or working towards a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation.
Completion of or working towards a certificate in business analysis.
