The Analyst, Portfolio Reporting, Real Estate Debt (Contract - 12 months) will report directly to the Director, Portfolio Reporting, Real Estate Debt and assist with management reporting, forecasting, and planning activities for the Real Estate Debt Portfolio. This position will work closely with the Real Estate Debt Investment Management, Finance and Operations teams, FP&A team, as well as the Global Portfolio Management group to ensure consistency and accuracy in portfolio analysis across the QuadReal Portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Advance QuadReal's agenda for driving insight at the portfolio level by contributing to scenario modelling, cash flow forecasting, leverage and liquidity analysis
  • Build and manage financial models of increasing complexity to analyze the portfolio in Excel, Anaplan, or other tools
  • Assist with analyzing portfolio exposures, return attribution, and market trends and support presentation materials
  • Validate and reconcile data collected from different systems, and assist with data process improvement projects
  • Work with multiple teams to maintain and build upon proprietary databases and reporting dashboards for accurate and timely reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc management reports for senior management, Board of Directors and BCI
  • Support real estate debt investment underwriting by providing portfolio impact analysis
  • Assist with ad hoc research projects for benchmarking, peer analysis, risk analysis, and other relevant topics
  • Support maintenance of existing portfolio datasets and analytics in Power BI which drive reporting and provide insights to portfolio managers and senior management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education - University degree with a major in business, finance, mathematics, accounting, or economics. CPA, CFA, CBV, MBA or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience - 1-2 years experience working in a finance analyst role. Previous experience working in an investment management, real estate company, advisory firm, or fund servicer is considered as an asset.
  • Analytical - Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.
  • Communication - Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
  • Organization - Must be able to allocate time effectively and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and change. Comfortable following direction but also contributing to the direction.
  • Software - Must have advanced knowledge of Excel; SQL and Power BI knowledge is considered a plus.
  • Relationship - Must be extremely proactive and work well in a collaborative environment, with the ability to take guidance but then move projects forward independently.
  • Critical thinking - Has a questioning frame of mind, asks "why" and challenges the status quo with improvements to drive change when needed.
  • Interest in real estate and financial markets

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000.

The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual's skill, experience, education and training, the market compensation of the role, and the consideration to internal equity.
