This customer focused technology role is responsible for providing primarily second level technical support of BlueShore Financial's Technology Infrastructure with a strong focus on the Banking system, Windows Servers, Windows Active Directory, Enterprise Messaging (Microsoft Exchange) and Enterprise Backup. In this critical position, you will support our business strategy in a high availability environment by proactively implementing and maintaining the technology infrastructure at BlueShore. This position supports systems operations, automation/scripting, systems security, network components, protocols, gateways, Internet technologies, data communications and operating systems.

This position will provide a flexible hybrid schedule (not fully remote), with two days required each week in our corporate office in North Vancouver. During your onboarding and training period of approximately 3 months, you will be required to be onsite 5 days a week.

There is required participation in an on-call technology support rotation schedule that will include after-hours work/support seven days a week as necessary. Travel to branch locations will be required, therefore you will require access to and use of a vehicle.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Provide 2nd level support to the Systems Infrastructure team; ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and resolution processes are well documented for tracking and future reference.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our internal partners, ensuring service delivery expectations are consistently met.
  • Develop and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency, operations and lower the human intervention time on tasks and mitigate operator errors.
  • Effectively communicate via written and verbal delivery channels to business units and all levels of management.
  • Prioritize work orders and requests and follow through to ensure completion.
  • Install, configure, and maintain BlueShore Financial hardware and software coordinating with all impacted stakeholders.
  • Support and maintain BlueShore Financial's Microsoft Windows Infrastructure, Skype for Business, Exchange and Enterprise Backup.
  • Manage operation tasks of the core Banking System, ensuring highest level of availability, performance and security.
  • Proactively monitor servers and workstations ensuring optimum performance, outage prevention, capacity planning and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date on new and emerging technologies and trends and make recommendations for changes/improvements in support of operations efficiency.
  • Document IT procedures; provide input into and communicate corporate standards to all users.
  • Perform system backups and recoveries in support of BCP validation.
  • Apply critical thinking in investigating and resolving unique issues where no documentation and training has been provided.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • 3 to 5 years' experience in integrating and administrating Enterprise Technology
    • Degree in Computer Science or related technical diploma
    • Systems infrastructure experience (data, voice, local and/or wide area network, systems management and security, and software assessment and repair)
    • Solid TCP/IP knowledge
    • Solid understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure (Security, LAN/WAN, SAN, Server, Enterprise Messaging, Virtualization, VPN and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory)
    • Extensive customer service experience

    The target range of this role is $74,000 - $91,000 per year, plus a variable performance bonus. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
