About This Role:

To plan, execute, and oversee technology-related projects that involve the design, implementation, and maintenance of Financial, Maintenance and HR IT Systems. Responsibilities span from initial project/ enhancements planning through to final deployment and subsequent transitioning to ongoing production support.

In This Role You Will:

  • Develop project objectives including schedules, clearly defined scope, resources, and physical assets required to meet project requirements. Develop timelines and expectations for all elements of a project.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams and stakeholders across the organization and different time zones. Anticipate and proactively manage change throughout the project cycle.
  • Lead the development of various project plans, ensuring alignment of activities and priorities. Provide project status updates and key deliverables.
  • Identify and manage risks, determine appropriate courses of action on complex issues while exercising judgment on moderately complex decisions that fall outside standard procedures, practices, and policies.
  • Maintain ownership of project progress, scope, and budget, and follow proper change management processes to proactively address any deviations from established baseline.
  • Organize all IT demand falling onto the management area by helping the team sequence their tasks and stay accountable for their respective deliverables for projects, fast-pace enhancements and problems (recurring incidents).

Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business administration, finance or a related area of study, combined with at least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in capital intensive industries.
  • Member of the Project Management Institute is desirable.
  • IT technical knowledge.
  • Experience in at least two of the following business functions: maintenance, procurement, financial and HR processes.
  • Experience in project environments that utilize Waterfall and Agile project management frameworks.
  • Experience in business process design and facilitation of group meetings.
  • Disciplined and open to new challenges.
  • Quick learner and able to adapt effectively
  • Analytical capabilities, and customer oriented.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage projects/workload in an efficient manner.
  • Problem-solving capabilities, critical thinking and solutions oriented.
  • Strong leadership with pro-active approach and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries
