We have an opportunity at the Office of the CAO within the Customer Service Centre, reporting to the Senior Manager, Customer Service Centre. As the Business Process Lead, you will be responsible for fostering positive change and the development of a culture of continuous improvement within the City of Burnaby. You will be responsible for onboarding and the ongoing sustainment of all City Departments into the customer service centre. This includes developing and implementing comprehensive onboarding programs that ensure new departments are fully integrated into the customer service centre's operations. You will provide training and support to new departments, helping them understand and adopt the centre's processes and systems. Additionally, you will continuously monitor and evaluate the onboarding process, making improvements as needed to ensure a smooth and efficient transition for all departments. You will build strong relationships with various stakeholders, including City departments, process owners, and team members. Your ability to establish and maintain these relationships will be crucial in driving successful business transformation and process optimization projects. Additionally, you will work closely with the Senior Manager on strategic initiatives. This collaboration will involve aligning goals, sharing insights, and ensuring that projects are executed effectively. You must be motivated to step into the Senior Manager role when needed. You'll have the drive to implement process excellence; lead, consult and participate in business transformation and process optimization projects across a wide range of the City programs. You will have the opportunity to conduct analysis, handle value stream mapping, have exposure to using process review methodologies, identify relevant KPIs, and develop future state recommendations and implementation plans. You will take the lead on performing cost-benefit analyses; identifying gaps in resourcing, knowledge, business enablement tools and organization process assets. This position will allow you to part take in confidential planning, make recommendations about organizational reviews and restructures, while supporting activities that enable the organization to adopt and sustain process change. As an engaging leader, you will present opportunities for improvements to process owners, with objectives to obtain agreement on an action plan; manage and review data to determine the outcome and results of implemented improvement initiatives; and represent the department at grievance hearings, arbitrations and labour management meetings. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related discipline, and four years of related experience in business process analysis, or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. As a Business Process Lead, you will be well versed process mapping; Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA), Business Analysis, Change Management, and Project Management methodologies. You will have some knowledge of municipal operations and service delivery methodologies. Outstanding time management skills are imperative for this role, as it entails concurrently handling multiple initiatives and work streams while helping to support the day-to-day functions of the CSC. Furthermore, adhering to deadlines and being considerate of others' time is vital for fostering efficient collaboration and productivity within the team. This role also requires the ability to understand, research, analyze, interpret and provide guidance on topics related to the role. Additionally, you will utilize an equity, diversity and inclusion lens to deliver on your tasks. You should also be equipped with the skills to use various software applications systems, data analytics and dash boarding tools and MS Office Applications. You are a proactive, self -starter that has a passion for optimizing processes and delivering service excellence. A Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
