The Information Technology Department has an opportunity for a Business Analyst 2 to join our IT Enterprise Solutions team primarily focused on supporting and enhancing the Tempest application. Additional applications will include ActivityHD along with Fuel/Fluid systems. An incumbent performs a number of activities supporting the sustainment of a number of applications, monitoring the post implementation performance of applications, identifies significant issues and implements solutions or workarounds. Assisting in the identification of potential system failures and associated risks, supports the deployment of applications by developing test packages and conducting tests to validate the operation of software. An incumbent will be able to exercise independent judgement, communicate effectively and work within a team with minimal supervision dealing with both internal and external clients. Participate in the development of appropriate policies and procedures to mitigate failures and in the development of appropriate backup, recovery and service level agreements. Other activities include providing assistance in the business case preparations, the identification and documentation of business requirements, facilitation of workshops and the solution design through development or configuration of applications. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include completion of a university degree at the Bachelor's level in Computer Science or a related discipline and sound related experience in systems analysis or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The ability to analyze and evaluate various data and information, develop logical solutions for assigned problems and assess the implications of proposed changes is a given. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts is highly valued as is the possession of considerable knowledge of Information Technology components, processes, procedures and integrations. Working knowledge of some and/or all of the following development languages is an asset: Visual Basic (Excel Macros), SQL, ABAP, C#, C++, Java, Crystal Reports and Python. Experience supporting the Tempest application over a broad range of modules in a Municipal or City government environment is required. Additional experience with ActivityHD and Fuel/Fluid systems is desirable.
