The Centre for Energy & Environmental Sustainability is looking to hire a current student enrolled in a college or polytechnic for a 4-month, full time internship (May 2025 - August 2025) with the possibility of part-time extension. The position will follow a hybrid working model where you will be working from home and a minimum of 2 days per week from NAIT's main campus. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to assist the Knowledge to Practice Lead in the implementation of newsletter updates, preparation of marketing materials, and supporting events.
The Centre for Energy & Environmental Sustainability (CEES) is located in NAIT's state-of-the art research laboratory in the Productivity and Innovation Centre. CEES is staffed by an expert team of applied scientists, engineers and technicians. We bridge the gap between existing energy sector environmental research and real-world solutions, taking innovative ideas from concept to commercialization. We work with business and industry to develop technologies that improve the economic and environmental performance of the energy and mining industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide marketing support to advance knowledge mobilization goals and objectives
Support the development and implementation of marketing plans
Participate in client meetings and coordinate marketing activities
Research and/or create publications that will be included in the newsletter
Assist with event planning and execution
Track progress and report on results
Skills & Abilities:
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to present information and assist with project planning
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Mailchimp and Adobe Spark are considered assets
Experience with designing professional marketing materials
Interest in digital marketing and applying data analytics to digital marketing campaigns
Ability to multitask and push multiple projects to completion simultaneously
Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled at NAIT or other community college or polytechnic in a marketing, communications, or related co-op work experience degree program
Must demonstrate understanding of marketing, communications and development techniques through education and/or past working experience
Must have access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection while working from home
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $17.48 - $21.69 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of stat holidays and vacation accrual. (Classification - Student Research Assistant I).
This casual opportunity is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
