Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Data and Digital Workplace Services, the SharePoint Developer will design, develop, and maintain SharePoint Online solutions, utilizing Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI to streamline business processes and enhance collaboration across the organization. The SharePoint Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into efficient, user-friendly solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Additionally, they will manage incidents, process change requests, and act as an escalation point for support issues, serving as the internal expert on SharePoint.

The role requires proven expertise in leveraging Microsoft Teams to drive collaboration and process efficiency, with a strong understanding of its integration with SharePoint Online. The SharePoint Developer will be responsible for configuring Teams channels, managing permissions, coordinating content sharing, and ensuring proper document management through SharePoint Online.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and customize MS Teams & SharePoint Online solutions, including sites, channels, libraries, lists, meta data identification content types, development of site templates and workflows.

  • Manage and execute the migration of content and solutions from on-premises environments to MS Teams & SharePoint Online. This includes assessing current environments, planning migration strategies, and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Develop and implement business process automation using Power Automate.

  • Work with stakeholders and the records management team to analyze, map, and transform existing content and data for migration, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, data retention schedules, and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide solutions that meet business needs.

  • Ensure MS Teams & SharePoint Online solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practices.

  • Manage MS Teams & SharePoint Online permissions and security settings to ensure compliance with organizational policies.

  • Perform MS Teams & SharePoint Online migrations, upgrades, and maintenance as needed.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve MS Teams & SharePoint Online-related issues and provide technical support to end-users.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in MS Teams, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Ensure proper governance of Microsoft Teams environments, including channel setup, permissions, and user roles aligned with organizational policies.

  • Design and maintain effective Teams structures, including private and public channels, to streamline cross-functional collaboration.

  • Facilitate the integration of Teams apps (e.g., Planner, Forms, Power Automate) to enhance productivity and workflows.

  • Serve as an SME for Microsoft Teams & SharePoint Online by training and guiding end-users on best practices for using the platform efficiently.

  • Analyze the existing systems and highlight areas of improvement.

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Assist with Incident and Problem management.

  • Create and maintain system documentation.

  • Assist with end user communication and learning.

  • Assist with Product Hub/Backlog grooming.

  • Assist with the design of test cases and acceptance criteria.

What you'll bring to us:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5-8 Years of related work experience.

  • Required Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, administration, and governance.

    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI).

    • Proficient in ShareGate for SharePoint migrations and content analysis

    • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PowerShell, and REST APIs.

    • Experience developing SharePoint Framework solutions for SharePoint Online and Teams

    • Experience with integrating SharePoint with external systems and databases using Power Platform connectors.

    • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Purview security and compliance tools.

    • Experience in building custom workflows, forms, and solutions in SharePoint using Power Automate and Power Apps.

    • Microsoft certification in SharePoint development.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
