The opportunity
Our Project Systems, Tools & Reporting team is looking for an Engineer to support our 4D (Dynamic, Digital, Data, and Diagnostic) program. 4D is the digitalization of construction and shop inspection reporting that allows inspection reporting and validation to be available to decision-makers in real-time. Construction inspector reports are streamlined into one area with technology, workflow capability, and enterprise dashboards to allow TC Energy to closely manage pipeline, facilities, and maintenance construction activities as they progress.
Reporting to the Manager of Project Systems, Tools & Reporting and supported by the 4D Program Manager, the role is responsible to maintain and support the 4D inspection program at TC Energy. You will be involved with the on-going support and utilization of the tool, soliciting stakeholder feedback, and working through tool or process enhancements to ensure business value and objectives are met.
What you'll do
Overall support of the 4D inspection program and governance; primarily Canadian construction focused
Collects stakeholder feedback, opportunities for improvement and works with the 4D team to carry out applicable process or system enhancements
Work with the vendor to assess, estimate, plan, and execute system enhancements
Ensure alignment of 4D with applicable TC Energy pipeline, facilities, and integrity construction programs
Work and partner with stakeholder groups execute assurance processes to ensure project compliance to the program and manage the close-out, findings, and actions
Engage with other project stakeholder teams and Safety & Technical Services to align and execute on overall 4D strategy (ie. welding & materials engineering, supply chain, third party inspection)
Create and manage associated program and governance documents
Work across project and corporate initiatives to further leverage 4D program and associated data to drive enhanced business decisions
Be part of a team that drives initiative, innovation, and change in the construction space. This includes opportunities such as utilizing 4D data to integrate with other on-going initiatives, evaluating and improving processes, developing partnerships, and proposing improvements across project areas
Provide process and technical expertise to project execution and construction teams
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience in the pipeline or related energy industry
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, diploma in Engineering Technology, or equivalent
Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work and contribute in a dynamic team environment, in-person and remote
Demonstrative initiative, willing and able to identify new opportunities for improvement and bring them forward
Highly organized and able to effectively prioritize responsibilities and self-direct work
For degreed Engineers: registered or eligible to register as a P.Eng with APEGA in Alberta in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
Project management and/or construction experience
Interest and experience in technology, data, and data analytics and visualizing (Microsoft Power BI) and reporting out data
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software applications.
