At SMS Equipment, our Manager, Controls & Processes is responsible for liaising and assisting with all ongoing finance related projects between the Finance and IT departments. Our ideal candidate will be someone who is analytical with a strong background in audit and business process improvement.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with IT department technical experts for the evaluation of various projects.
  • Ensure projects meet JSOX compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with all Finance users to provide high quality power BI reports to meet the users' needs.
  • Understand all the needs from Finance users including Finance users from Alaska and Mongolia, regarding changes required to be made to our system.
  • Assist the Finance department to drive BI projects with IT department.
  • Proven experience in audit and business process improvement.
  • Schedule periodic meetings with IT department to ensure the production of BI projects are on track and on time.
  • Coordinate with IT department to analyze all the potential impacts of solution loads.
  • Guide departments through ERP implementation, serving as the champion for how each stage impacts organizational functions.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other departments to drive ERP integration, coordinate with IT, and document processes to ensure consistent project progress.
  • Monitor and follow up with IT departments incidents logged in ServiceNow to ensure the timely resolution of such.
  • Presentation creation and support for shareholders.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a post secondary education in finance and/or accounting and a related university degree combined with a CPA designation. Additional requirements include:

  • ERP selection/implementation experience in a large company.
  • Proven troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer-focused approach to resolving business process related systems issues with the business community.
  • Results orientated to ensure the successful delivery of projects and management of the programs.
  • Previous accounting/finance knowledge.
  • Proven experience in audit and business process improvement.
  • Advanced computer skills in both Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Power BI experience.
  • IT designations combined with accounting designations are an asset.
  • Ability to travel to meet business needs if required.
